Frequently Asked Questions

What are “custom slabs”?

Custom slabs encapsulate a card just like any other graded card from PSA, Beckett, etc. They are airtight, watertight, UV-resistant, and sealed using an ultrasonic plastic welder. You get high quality protection for your card without the hassle and high cost of grading.

Are these slabs for collectors or for more fans?

The answer is: yes! It doesn’t matter if you are a card collector or just like to geek out over your favorite characters and scenes; everyone who visits Slabbed Cards will connect with the artwork in their own way. Some of us may buy a slab for the intrinsic value of the card. Some of us may buy a slab as a gift for a fellow fan. In the end, these slabs connect all of us to those fantastical franchises that have brought immeasurable joy into our lives.

Can I make an offer for a slab or slabs for a lower price?

We absolutely entertain offers on any of our slabs. Head over to our “offers” page for more info.

How much is shipping?

Shipping is $4 for the first slab and $1 for each additional slab.

What if I want to get my slabbed card graded?

Great news! PSA can break your slabbed card open for you. That means you simply send them any card purchased from Slabbed Cards as you would any other card for grading. PSA will transfer to their own encapsulation during the grading process.

Why are some slabs priced so high?

Chances are, the same reason you found this site is the same reason we created it: a love for all things Star Wars cards. Some of the cards we feature may be one of our all-time favorites or hold sentimental value. For these personal favorites, we tend to price higher because at the end of the day, we are totally okay if they don’t sell and remain perched on one of our displays so we can continue to enjoy them.

How long will it take to ship my slab?

All slabs are shipped within 1 week from ordering. While shipping out your purchase may take less time than that, we have to account for any unforeseen delays.

Do you ship internationally?

Currently, we only ship to addresses in the USA. As we grow Carbonite Slabs, we hope to offer international shipping in the future. If you do live overseas and REALLY, REALLY want a slab, please contact us directly to see if we can work something out.

My slab was damaged during shipping, what do I do?

Any existing damage is always listed in a slab’s description, but sometimes on its way to you, things can happen. If your slab shows up with obvious damage, please contact us as soon as possible (be sure to take a pic of the damaged slab to send to us!).
